Deaf Lady with No Sound and Computer

Post Updated: November 30, 2017

Deaf Literacy Initiative is hosting a culturally informative event entitled ‘It’s a Deaf Deaf World’. This is a ONE-day event filled with fun and adventure designed to expose the hearing public to the challenges and successes that Deaf people encounter daily in the hearing-majority world. It is open to everyone, from the non-signer to the native signer. This event creates an example of a Deaf and Deaf-Blind community; complete with a bank, stores, school, and much more. Its goal is to bring awareness that Deaf and Deaf-Blind affects a diverse cultural spectrum and provides unique challenges to these individuals. A small group of committed volunteers are working to bring this event to Mississauga.

It will be held on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at the Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport at 970 Dixon Road Toronto, Ontario. The doors open at 9 AM to 4 PM. PLEASE REGISTER.

Please support this project by promoting this event for us, and feel free to come and enjoy a taste of Deaf Culture with your family and friends!
