Our Community
A number of Ontario agencies presently operate literacy programs specifically designed for Deaf and Deafblind adults.
Seven agencies operate with assistance from the Literacy and Basic Skills Section of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
These agencies are:
- Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf
- Canadian Hearing Society
- Canadian National Institute for the Blind
- Durham Deaf Services
- George Brown College
- Mohawk College
- Alternative Learning Style & Outlooks
- Windsor Public Library
Fifteen sites serve over 400 learners. These sites operate in the communities of :
- Hamilton
- London
- Oshawa
- Ottawa
- Sudbury
- Sault-Ste-Marie
- St. Catherines
- Thunder Bay
- Toronto
- Windsor
